My story

Colby is a 7-year-old German Shepherd/Pitbull mix with a big heart. After spending five years in a loving home, he suddenly found himself back at the shelter—not because he did anything wrong, but because the family's child developed severe allergies. Now Colby waits, confused and heartbroken, wondering what he did to end up here again. This sweet boy is the definition of loyal. He’s house-trained, knows his basic commands, and just wants to be close to his people. He’s been through a lot, and he deserves stability, patience, and love. Colby has a bit of leash reactivity—he can get vocal when he sees other dogs—but it’s truly all bark. He’s not aggressive, just a little unsure in the moment. With a calm, confident handler and some consistency, he’s already improving. He’d thrive in a home where he can be your one-and-only pup, soaking up all the attention he missed. Colby still has so much life, love, and tail wags to give. He may be seven, but he has the heart of a dog who still believes there’s a place for him out there. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who’s been through it and still loves with everything he’s got—Colby’s your guy. Give him the second chance he’s been waiting for.
