Meet Ginger — The Sweetest Soul You’ve Yet to Know There are some dogs who just fit. They find their way into your life and fill a space you didn’t even know was empty. Ginger is one of those rare hearts — soft in every way. From her silky orange coat to the way she leans gently into you after a scratch, Ginger is love in its purest form. She greets every person she meets with warmth and kindness — never in a rush, never too much, always just right. Her energy is calm and wise, like an old soul wrapped in a young, radiant body. There’s a quiet grace in everything she does, whether she’s basking in the sun with a smile on her face or taking in the world on one of her nature walks. Fall in love by watching her adoption video here: https://youtu.be/_Ru9gLCe7QE Estimated to be around 2 years old, Ginger is a Carolina/Lab mix — though we think she might be part sunshine, part serenity. Her big curled tail, listening ears, and the softest coat make her a sight to behold. But it’s her heart you’ll fall for first. Ginger is wonderfully friendly with other dogs — especially those who, like her, appreciate a slower pace and gentle play. She prefers companions who don’t rush her, who understand that sometimes, the best friendships are the quiet kind. She’ll occasionally burst into zoomies, delighting in the moment, but mostly, she enjoys just being near her chosen friend — lounging, sharing space, maybe a soft kiss or two. She's respectful with treats and isn’t possessive with toys — again, bringing that peaceful presence! She’s also cat-friendly, having shown calm, yet proper curiosity around Biggie, our house cat. Ginger has been cat tested and spent several hours with him to see if her behavior with him has been consistent. She now just lays in the room with him and they mostly sleep together! Ginger has been nothing but gentle and patient with the youngest of visitors. Ginger recently met little Luke (1 year) and Kobe (4 years), and was a perfect lady throughout — careful, loving, and quietly observant. Whether Luke was laughing at Biggie the cat or exploring with his musical walker, Ginger stayed close by, giving tiny kisses and sharing in his joy. With Kobe, she strolls patiently as Kobe does the opposite with his toddler energy! Lol She does enjoy when he takes her on walks and lets him take the lead. Crate trained and quiet, Ginger enters and exits her crate with ease, waiting with quiet trust for your lead. She doesn’t bark unnecessarily or stir up commotion. Even in the company of other dogs, she remains poised and composed, a calm observer rather than a reactor. Ginger is also a dream on car rides — hopping in, curling up, napping softly, and occasionally watching the world pass by. She’s a true “go-with-the-flow” kind of girl, happy just to be near you, whatever the day brings. So often we say a dog “has it all,” but with Ginger, it’s truly felt. She’s that missing piece you didn’t even realize your heart was waiting for — gentle, sweet, and full of quiet joy. If you’re looking for a best friend who will walk beside you with grace, fill your days with warmth, and love you with her whole heart… Ginger is your girl. We are willing to test Ginger with anything to see if she is your next family member! We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription Coupons for a fun visit to Petco 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
