My story

The name Lael has roots in Hebrew and refers to belonging to one who will love, accept and care for you. Wow! Lael sure is hoping that her name is indicative of a loving family who will come to take her home soon!Lael’s volunteer friends see so much potential in this sensitive sweetie, saying the following:“Lael is a tender cutie! She was a little shy when I first met her, but once leashed up, she was easy to walk over to the play yard. Once in the yard she explored all the smells and would come over for a treat, thanking me with a friendly tail wag. She is a bit timid, but very, very sweet and I`m sure she`ll thrive in a home where she has a little time to decompress from stressful shelter life and soak in all the patience and love that a forever home has to offer!” “Lael was a bit nervous when I entered her kennel, but she let me leash her after I tossed a treat. Although she was timid, she seemed sweet, and she started relaxing once we met up with her kennelmate. She seemed to feel most comfortable walking near her kennelmate. After some time outside, she was comfortable taking treats from my hand. She takes them gently. She didn`t react to anyone or anything in the park.”Lael shares her kennel politely and seems to find comfort from a doggy buddy. As she is a gentle and sensitive gal, she hopes to meet any potential furry roommates before heading home to ensure compatibility. Lael is looking for a furever home with no livestock and a patient family who will respect her need to take things slowly when meeting new people. In the shelter she has warmed up to male and female volunteers when treated gently and with respect.
