Thank You for your cooperation*** Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues. WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS. Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog. We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes around WA state & Oregon but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA. Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, PayPal, if using PayPal the potential adopter will have to pay the fees & charges with PayPal. Our beautiful Gracie has seen it all unfortunately. Soul destroying to think of what she has been through & yet she still loves human beings even after everything they have done to her. We cannot even begin to imagine what Gracie witnessed & heard when she was at the slaughterhouse, how Gracie ended up in a slaughterhouse for human consumption & yes you did read that correctly, we will never know? What we do know is, she was pulled out of there by our outstanding Chinese rescuer just in time. It’s absolutely soul destroying to think about the horrific situation she ended up in. With her gentle personality we do not know how she survived this? Working with one of our truly devoted, dedicated & absolutely outstanding Chinese rescuers she rescued Gracie & many others for us. Without this beloved rescuer going in & getting Gracie out, her fate was a torturous death. She transferred Iwan to her own rescue & covid had hit & the waiting began. Along with Gracie & many other sweet souls she got well & they waited to come to the US. This became a very extremely expensive situation with covid. We were finally able to bring everyone back through cargo which is an astronomical expense per dog, but we believe every sweet soul such as Gracie & her & friends deserves to be loved & cherished & given the chance to have a wonderful life. On top of this wait, we had to wait an extra 9 months to bring these babies. They were supposed to arrive in October 2022. Now Gracie is looking for a special family to cherish her & be patient with her & remember what this beautiful soul has been through & a family that meets all her needs. Gracie was rescued by our truly amazing Chinese rescue friends & just as always we are beyond grateful to the Chinese rescue who we are so extremely thankful for what they do day in & day out for these babies, we cannot thank them enough. Gracie was bought back to the USA where she is now a US citizen & is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home. At first Gracie was uncertain of everything & everyone but who could blame her? Gracie is one of the biggest loves & has come such along way since she arrived from China. She has the type of personality where she would let a dog eat her food but once she bonds with that dog they are her mate & she loves them. The reality is she had to learn everything new here. She is the type of schnauzer who will wait for her foster mum wherever she is & look for her & will follow her around. If her foster siblings follow her, so will she. We put her into a daycare & tested her with countless dogs & she has done amazing. She loves both woman & men. This girl is the biggest sweetheart you will ever meet. She is so forgiving. She just wants you to love her & she will love you back. She adores being hugged & held once she knows you & is comfortable with you because the reality is we are the first real people in her life to show her such true love & affection. Gracie eats a clean diet meaning she eats raw fruits, vegetables, proteins & grains along with supplements. She also enjoys collagen sticks & bully sticks. When she arrived she was absolutely putrid, it’s so sad with how stinking filthy she was. She was a little uncertain with her baths at first but once she realized everything was ok she really enjoyed them & did good being dried with the hairdryer. She is now used to be groomed also. Gracie is still learning to walk on harness & leash considering we believe we are the first people to teach her how to go on walks but would still need to be taught. Gracie has been taught to walk on a slip lead. Gracie is a rescue & will need patience, time & understanding. Iwan adores being pampered & doesn’t want you to stop when brushing her, cleaning her eyes, grooming her, she loves it all. She also does extremely well being touched in general & adores receiving love. Having toys & a warm bed is all new to Iwan & we have been excited to change her world with the introduction of toys & lots of love & affection & a loving environment. She likes laying on you when she is with you or on comfy blankets. She definitely will want to sleep in bed with you & enjoys laying on the couch. Gracie has learnt to ride in the car & does well in the car & enjoys a good car ride. She is such an easy & sweet going, loving little lady. With Gracie we are only looking for a crate free home for this lovely little lady only. Please do not apply with the intent to crate this girl. We are also looking for a forever home for Gracie where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly he can go with them. Did we mention this girl loves a good outfit too. Gracie is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love her as she should be loved & be very patient with her & understanding. Gracie has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & she is currently with other dogs & enjoys their company so we are looking for a home where she can be with another dog or dogs as they make her feel comfortable. A fully fenced backyard is mandatory for Iwan’s new forever if it’s a freestanding dwelling. Gracie is now roughly 17.8 lbs & is 3 years old & female schnauzer & what she is mixed with we are not sure? She is spayed, microchipped, had her shots including DHLPP, Bordatella, rabies & dewormed. But once these shots expire we do redo them as we do not over vaccinate our dogs & will only redo the rabies. We have spent far more on Gracie with bringing her to the US with her travel airfare costs, $2200 alone, bringing her through NY into Seattle, without anything else then on top of that paying for her medical care & boarding fees, including a spay, shots, microchip etc, than her adoption fee comes close to covering. Gracie has not been around cats since being in the rescue but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals. We have not had Iwan with small children so we do not recommend children, but it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & animals. We were not there when Gracie was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is. As with all of our rescues & Gracie’s friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is Gracie potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond. We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Iwan & going through our process and have read his listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit using zoom due to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Gracie who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for this lovely little lady. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Gracie has an adoption fee of $1250 & is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.
