My story

Please contact Isabell (pawparent@gmail.com) for more information about this pet.Peanut came to Paw Parent from the Lancaster shelter where he had found himself twice. The second time around his parent had died only a year after he had gotten adopted, and the family surrendered him back to the shelter where his time was up and he was high on the list to be put down.He gets along great with all dogs same size or smaller then him but we found out the hard way that he does not like dogs larger than him within the first 24 hours after we had rescued him. He went after our old, half blind lab mix who just wants to be left alone. He bit Peanut in his right front leg and broke both bones. Peanut needed extensive and very expensive surgery but thankfully, 4 months later, he is fully healed and ready for his new forever home.He has the typical terrier personality, feisty, affectionate, full of energy with a weakness for  good belly rubs. He loves to play with all kinds of toys and wants us to chase him to get them from him. He makes a great travel companion, loves car rides and has excellent leash manners. He's about 2 years old and weighs 20 pounds. He has a slight heart murmur but nothing to worry about. He is neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped. Please call us at 661-724-0642 or email us at pawparent@gmail.com if you would like to meet him.April 14, 2025, 4:59 pm

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Peanut, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
