Name: Carmella Breed: Border Collie Sex: Female Age: 2 year old Weight: 45 lbs. Has behavioral needs. Carmella is part of our foster to adopt program that will help with continued training training support. Good with dogs? Carmella will need a slow introduction to other dogs Good with cats? No Good with kids? Not tested but based on her behavior with meeting new people we would recommend she go to a kid free home. Energy level: High. She is a Border Collie and needs mental stimulation. Bonus points if her new adopter wants to work with Carmella on learning how to herd properly. Animal Characteristics: Carmella is a beautiful, sensitive soul searching for someone special to help her shine. This shy girl hasn’t had the easiest start, and she’s still learning to trust the world around her. When meeting new people, Carmella can be fearful— but with patience, structure, and love, she begins to open up. She’ll be starting professional training to help her build confidence and learn how to navigate her fears. Her ideal home will be with an experienced, compassionate adopter committed to continuing her training and providing slow, gentle introductions to new people and situations. Carmella isn’t the kind of dog who will greet you with tail wags and kisses on day one — but if you give her time and understanding, you’ll earn the love of a truly loyal companion.
