My story

Marilyn, a 5-year-old, 13-pound female rat terrier/chi mix, is a cuddle monster. She has adjusted well to city life after leaving San Diego. She flew to NYC back in February to help make space in the shelters for the LA dogs displaced by the fires. She has the most beautiful light brown eyes that will remain trained on her chosen human. She is loyal loving girl who loves any and all treats. She has learned to “sit” as long as there are treats involved. When home with her human, she must be touching you. She may bark once or twice when her human leaves the house but settles down very quickly and is fine until they return. She would do well in a home with another adult dog, as she suffers from solo dog separation anxiety. While she prefers being with her humans, the presence of another dog seems to soothe her. You must pay the belly rub tax when you leash her up and clean her paws. She does great on a leash and appears to be house trained.  Marilyn has a large bald patch on her back and tail. Her fur has begun to slowly grow back but  her forever family will want to keep an eye on this and make sure that her skin continues to improve. She is received a dental and had  a couple teeth extracted.  It appears she has had many babies in the past…and does not enjoy the energy of puppies. Who can blame her! She seems intrigued by the sounds of cats on TV but that remains untested.  View Marilyn in action Vaccinated for rabies, DHPP, lepto, and bordetella. Spayed, heartworm negative, and microchipped. Current on flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. To apply for Marilyn, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the dog is on our website, they are still available. Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue. Adoptions: adopt@waggytailrescue.org ##2286388##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Marilyn, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
