Looking for a quiet, hardworking companion to help keep your property rodent-free? Jalapeño might be the perfect fit! This 2-year-old tabby is a shy, feral boy who prefers to keep his distance from people, but he’s more than happy to contribute as a working or barn cat.Jalapeño isn’t the spicy type—despite his name, he’s calm, observant, and keeps to himself. What he does bring is a strong natural instinct for hunting and a quiet presence that makes him ideal for barns, sheds, workshops, or warehouses. He’s already neutered, vaccinated, and ready to settle into a safe, low-traffic spot where he can do what he does best: patrol the grounds, keep the mouse population in check, and enjoy a peaceful outdoor life. All he asks in return is regular food, shelter, and the space to be himself. If you’ve got a spot that needs a little pest control and a lot less fuss, Jalapeño is ready to get to work. For current adoption fees, please see our website, www.metrodetroitanimals.org. Adoption fee includes: age-appropriate vaccinations, spay or neuter, microchip, ID tag, fecal / worming, basic physical and behavior assessment. Dogs (6 months and older) receive an occult heartworm test. For an additional $20, cats (12 weeks and older) can be tested for FIV (feline immunodeficiency virus) / FLV (feline leukemia).
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Jalapeno, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
