My story

How this pet arrived: Rocky was brought in by his previous owner on April 12, 2025. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Rocky, an energetic pup looking for a new home! Rocky can be a bit shy with new faces, and appreciates some time to open up at his own pace. He adores treats and thrives on gentle care, and we've seen him make both human and dog friends here in the shelter! He loves long walks where he can sniff around, and enjoys playing in water. Due to his shy nature, Rocky would do best in a lower-traffic household without young children (under 6). That being said, he's made dog friends of all shapes and sizes, and may benefit from living with another social dog. According to Rocky's previous owner, he has a tendency to take himself on walks to visit neighborhood dogs for playdates when left home alone in the yard. Thus, it is important that he isn't left unattended outdoors and that he is in a secure fenced yard when off leash. If you're ready to open your heart and home to this pup deserving of love and comfort, make sure to bring the whole family to meet him! We will even send you home with his crate (make sure to bring a large vehicle), leash and collar. At SDHS: Rocky has been vaccinated, microchipped and spayed/neutered. He is now ready for his new home! Shy/Fearful Dog: Rocky requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about him. Primary Color: Black Weight: 70.8 Age: 2yrs 3mths 1wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Rocky, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
