Meet Faruke – A Gentle Soul in Need of a Soft LandingAt just 1 year old and 40 pounds, Faruke is a sensitive pup who’s still learning how to navigate the world. The shelter environment has been overwhelming for him—loud noises, unfamiliar spaces, and slippery floors have left him frightened and unsure. While outside in the play yard, he’s full of nervous energy, constantly on the move, and working hard to focus. He’s beginning to respond to gentle training, taking treats and slowly learning basic commands like “sit.”Indoors, Faruke’s fear is more visible—he often freezes, hugs the walls, and sometimes needs to be carried through busy or slick areas. His behavior is not stubbornness—it’s fear, and he’s doing his best. What Faruke truly needs is a calm, patient home where he can decompress, build confidence at his own pace, and learn that the world isn’t so scary after all.Faruke isn’t broken—he’s just scared. But with the right person or family by his side, he has the potential to blossom into the loving, loyal companion we know he is deep down.
