My story

Hi, I`m Hazel! I’m an energetic and affectionate pup who loves adventures, meeting new people, and getting all the snuggles. Recently, I went on an adventure with my foster family, and it was the best day ever! We went to Westside Park, where I had a blast sniffing everything in sight (I love to explore). At first, I pulled a little on the leash because I just couldn’t wait to discover more, but my foster family gave me gentle corrections, and I was quick to listen and settle into a good pace. I met a couple of new people on our walk and was super friendly—wiggly body, wagging tail, the whole deal. I also met some kids, and even though I was a little unsure at first, I warmed up to them and ended up adoring them! I’m a sweet and loving pup once I get to know you, and I definitely enjoyed hanging out with the family.I also had gone on another adventure ( I`m in high demand!) and hung out with my foster`s puppy! We got along great, and I would likely do well with another dog who has similar personality traits. I`m also perfectly house broken! After our walk, I got to run around in a fenced backyard, which was SO much fun! I absolutely love fetch and know a few tricks like sit, stay, drop, leave it, and shake. I’m pretty smart, if I do say so myself! I also love lounging on the couch for a nap, especially when I get to snuggle up with someone. I do have a lot of energy and love to run and play, so I’d be happiest with an active family or someone who loves outdoor adventures. I’m probably best with kids who are at least six years old since I can be a bit much for little ones (I’m still learning how to chill out around younger kiddos). Oh, and I’m a talker! I do like to howl for attention—especially when I want some pets, and when I am getting pet I make the cutest little snorts. For that reason, I’m probably not the best fit for an apartment, but if you’re willing to give me plenty of exercise and training, I could definitely adapt! After all my zoomies are out I LOVE to snuggle - pets and cuddles are the best thing ever!Overall, I’m a loving, loyal companion who’s just looking for a family to share my energy and affection with. If you’re active, love to play, and are ready for a smart, vocal, and fun pup, I think we could be a great match! I qualify for Foster First, which means you can foster me for 14 days prior to adoption to ensure I’m the perfect fit for your family!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Hazel, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
