Wendell

My story

Meet Wendell, a skinny teenage tuxie with a giant floofy tail. He's the perfect combination of chill and affectionate. Wendell will rub against people's legs and make tiny meow sounds to let everyone know that he would like some loving please! And when the right spots are scritched, he'll flop over and joyfully slide around his back. But when it's couch time, he's very happy to curl up and relax with his fosters, either alongside them or from his favorite perch nearby. He is a typically active adolescent and spends a lot of time exploring and playing. He especially enjoys chasing wand toys, and he is a fool for anything stuffed with catnip. Wendell was found in front of a home in Brooklyn, frozen in terror. He wasn't neutered and his former owners could not be located. He is slightly awkward about some things (see the video of him trying to figure out how laps work) so perhaps he was a store cat. Wherever he lived, someone loved on him and petted his head a lot. He is a happy boy when someone is gently rubbing his soft little noggin. Wendell might enjoy living with another cat after a slow and proper introduction but he would also be fine as a solo cat, as long as he gets lots of playtime and attention. Because he is not a confident cat, and may swipe or bite if he is frightened or feels threatened, we think he is best suited for a home without children. He takes some time to adjust to new situations. We will provide guidance on how to ease his transition so that he can feel safe and cozy in his new home. Wendell is neutered, fully vaccinated, and has tested negative for FIV and FeLV.
