My story

Tiny Tuna is a goofy name for a little pup, but we were shocked to learn that his size is actually tiny, at least in comparison to an actual tuna fish! Certain species of tuna can weigh more than 1,500 pounds! That’s nuts! Our Tiny Tuna would be dwarfed by such a large fish; we will advise him to stay away from the Atlantic Ocean, to avoid an encounter!Tiny is a brave pup who came into the shelter undersocialized and scared along with his siblings. He has gotten a lot of TLC from a special team of volunteers who work with our scaredy pups. He is making lovely progress and is looking for an equally special home where his family will take it slow and take his lead as he adjusts. Here`s what one of his volunteer advocates said:“Tiny Tuna has made significant progress in his socialization skills during the last month that I have been working with him. Tuna is shy, but is still getting braver with touch. He will stay near me as long as I don`t try to pet him. He has always been friendly and comes running up to the door whenever he sees me. He is very lovable and is worth the time it will take to build trust and ensure he is safe. He is very endearing!”In playgroup Tiny loves running around and jumping in the pool and has a great time playing! He shares his kennel nicely with another dog and would probably love a confident, friendly doggy buddy to share his home with. He’s dreaming of a family who will not rush him, but who will trust the process and let him settle in with predictable routines, patience and positive reinforcement based training. Tiny Tuna is a courageous boy with so much potential. We believe in him and hope that you will give him a chance to be the very best boy he can be in a loving home!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt TINY TUNA*, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
