My story

Mia is a gentle girl who wants connection but isn’t always sure how to ask for it. She starts off a bit unsure, but with a soft voice and patience, she opens up and seeks attention. She takes treats gently, sits politely, and allows handling. Mia is a sweet, sensitive soul looking for someone who understands that trust takes time—and that she's worth the wait. Meet Mia at ACCT Philly any day from 10 am - 6 pm BEHAVIOR: 04/14/2025 staff notes: did a fence meeting with Kasmo. Mia had a high flagging tail, pulled hard towards the fence, sniffed face to face, then began to growl and scrape up the ground with her paws and was further vocalizing as I moved her away. She would fixate on him from a distance and kick up the ground with her feet. 04/13/2025 staff notes: KENNEL PRESENTATION: Mia was at the front of her kennel with wide red eyes and a high wagging tail. She was easy to secure and came right out. LEASH SKILLS: Pulls minimally HANDLING : In the room, Mia was a bit unsure with a high tail but once she was spoken to in a baby voice then she was very open to interaction. She came up to a couple staff members and was timid, howling for attention and taking treats nicely. She allowed all handling and seemed to have lots of opinions with how many treats and pets she got. She is a very sweet but conflicted girl. She takes treats very gently and sits sweetly for us. She is a pretty conflicted girl and the more time she's out the more frustrated and unsure she'd be with handling and being with people. She got more nervous the more she was around us. PLAY: No interest TOYS: Minimal interest 04/13/2025 Volunteer notes: Stopped by to see Mia. She was wagging her tail and took treats gently through the kennel. 04/12/2025 staff notes: Putting on eval for behavior. Dog reactive and weary of strangers. 04/12/2025 medical staff notes: TTA : PT tail was stiff throughout the exam , ears up , lip licking . once handler muzzle and nurse begin to give VX , PT jump up with a yelp . we decided to hold off until she has TTA .
