My story

Dog Name: Mikey Breed: Mixed breed Sex: Male Age: 9 weeks DOB 1/29/2025 Weight: 12.5 lbs Medical Needs: Will need to be neutered. This appointment will be scheduled through Grass Roots Rescue. Neuter appointments can be requested for Georgetown, Dover, Wilmington or Newark. Foster to adopt families must live within an hour of one of the locations listed above, and must be willing to travel there for the appointment. A required $75 check must be submitted by adopter, which Grass Roots Rescue will hold and then destroy once neuter is verified. Housebroken: Progressing along. Does very well with a consistent schedule of going outside. Also, uses the puppy pads inside pretty consistently. Crate trained: Working on it. Mouth does not like to be left alone. However, he does settle down and is crated all night. Good in the car: Yes Good on a leash: Nope! The leash is a toy! Energy level: Very active Need a fenced in yard: No Dog Friendly: Yes. Fostered with his sibling and older Mastiff. Absolutely adores the resident Mastiff. If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No. Cat Friendly? Yes! Loves the resident cats. Kid Friendly: Yes. Currently fostered with a 4 yr old and 7 yr old. Sharp puppy teeth though! If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Any age with proper supervision would be fine. Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Mikey came down with Parvo within a week of leaving the shelter. Honestly, we thought he wasn't going to make it. He pulled through and is as healthy as can be! He's a survivor and such a wonderful pup. He loves his people and kids. He also adores the older pup in the home. He is super playful and snuggly. Mikey would be a wonderful addition to any family.
