My story

KenMar Rescue’s Gracie A special note from Gracie: Hi there! I hope you’re having a good day because I sure am. My foster parents call me a Ham Sandwich, because I am always posing cutie patootie for the camera and batting my big eyes waiting for a treat or more interaction. I enjoy playing in the grass, soaking up some sun and spending time learning about the world. I am a puppy after all. I was found stray and brought in to a local shelter where I was available to rescue shortly after intake because I had no microchip at the time and no one came to claim me. I was rescued by KenMar Rescue and have been in their care ever since. Can you believe these volunteers drove over 100 miles to rescue me? They raise funds to equip me with everything I need for a healthy life while in their care; keep me current with any of my medical or other needs (like flea and tick prevention, because parasites are icky), and give me the best quality yummy food to keep me developing in the best way. I am living my best life in foster care. Adventures and new things mean the world to me. I love meeting friends and exploring all of the creatures in the garden. For me, an ideal forever home would have a secured yard and parents that would take me on walks and adventures. Of course, I would always go with them on vacation because I would be part of their family. Having a forever home is what I live for. In return, I would be a loving, faithful and supportive companion for the rest of my days. If you are able to provide a stable, patient and loving home, then please feel free to apply to adopt me. Thank you for your consideration, Gracie *** Gracie’s birthday is estimated as 1/8/2025, she weighs about 12 lbs. She is spayed, up to date with all shots and chipped. Gracie is ready for her forever home. Could it be yours? Apply to adopt and find out. Please see below for more information. Google picture recognition says Gracie’s breed blend is a Boston Terrier. Overview (according to Google AI) The Boston Terrier, nicknamed the “American Gentleman”, is a small, compact, and lively dog breed that originated in Boston, Massachusetts in the 19th century. They are a cross between an English Bulldog and an English White Terrier. Appearance: Boston Terriers have a terrier build, short muzzle, erect ears, and a short tail. Their “tuxedo” coat can be black, brindle, or seal, with white markings on the face, chest, neck, and leg Life expectancy: 13-15 years What WE know Gracie is for sure: Gracie is sweet, active and gentle. She would make a great candidate for any loving home. Curious about everything, she enjoys long walks, car rides and snuggles. Gracie is in foster care and it may take her a few weeks to get acclimated into a new home’s layout and routine, but she will do her best if given an honest and generous chance. Like all creatures great and small, Gracie thrives with positive reinforcement. She is a goof! There’s not much she takes too seriously. Besides treats. Treats are serious business! She will do just about anything for a treat because treats are life. If you are interested in submitting an adoption application for Gracie, please email: info@KenMarRescue.org and write “Request for application for Gracie,” in the subject line. Thanks for checking out Gracie’s profile and submitting an adoption application. *** Ken-Mar Rescue is a 501c3 charitable organization. Donations go towards the care and feeding of our orphans. The adoption donation is $500 and used directly to save future orphans. Application review is followed by a phone call if approved. Home checks are done via FaceTime or Zoom prior to each adoption. *** More about Ken-Mar Rescue - TV Appearances: Our orphans have been featured on various shows such as this one, K9 Corner, and consistently invited to "Good Day LA" Pet segments: https://youtu.be/7ZQJZ8Um-Jo *** Ken-Mar Rescue Yelp Reviews https://yelp.to/dr4UlKdAmF *** Additional Media: Somewhat dated video about us.  Ken-Mar Rescue has saved over 1,000 lives since our founding in 2007 https://youtu.be/R-mnilY2Yik?si=XyQUrv3ar67EmEgg Please note: We are located in Northern California, near Yosemite. So transportation logistics may be an issue. Especially if things do not work out, how would the orphan be returned to us?   Would you be the primary adopters? Responsible for future care, feeding and future annual vet visits and medical expenses? Please consider these things before applying.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Gracie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
