Riley is a very handsome boy who loves a cozy bed and having his favorite treats nearby. He loves people and comes to his name when called. Riley loves to be petted but is not too excited about being groomed, though he will let staff and volunteers brush him if they give him frequent breaks (and a treat or two during the process doesn't hurt). Can't really blame him for not wanting to be groomed, because underneath that fluffy top layer was a horribly matted lower layer of fur. As you can see from his video and newest photos, Riley has recently had a "lion cut" to remove that deeply matted fur, and he feels SO much better! His beautiful orange coat will grow back in soft and silky, and will stay in great condition with brief (1 - 2 minutes) daily brushing, which we think he will enjoy much more now. Riley does not like dogs and would prefer to be the only cat, but can adjust to another cat in the family with a slow introduction. This calm older gentleman would be a purrrrrrfect companion for someone looking for just one pet, an easy keeper with few demands and lots of love to give. All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Riley is a suggested minimum of $25 or Senior for Senior (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners.
