My story

This happy-go-lucky pittie is all about good times, paw thumping zoomies, and toy time! He loves to gallop around showing off his toys like the proud goofball he is. When playtime winds down, Bucky’s favorite spot is right by your feet, happily chewing away and keeping you company. He’s got a big smile, a bigger heart, and he’s ready to find his forever family!Come meet Bucky at Burbank Animal Shelter and let his joy rub off on you! From Bucky’s Day Foster Volunteer:Bucky`s first walk today was good, not great. I give him a C-, but practice makes perfect (or at least better)It was suggested I use my standard leash and take the metal as a backup, and I am very thankful for that advice. I leashed him up with both, and 20 minutes into the walk, he chewed through my leash in 2 places (it`s now in a random Burbank trash bin). He will no doubt get better with each outing. The good news is that he didn`t pull much at all. He was appropriately obedient. He was interested in humans and other dogs and didn`t growl or bark. He loves getting pets and is super friendly. We got coffee, which he thought was just OK, and then we took a break in the grass under a shady tree, which he loved. He`s quite the cuddle bug. What a dream date. Bucky has evolved quickly into a fantastic companion. Alicia has all the Happy Tails collars and harnesses for washing, so I had to re-fit the boy this morning. He knew exactly why I was there and sat patiently while I outfitted him. He still pulls on the leash (even the metal one) as we leave his kennel, but once we are inside the main building, he drops the leash and is on his way. He hasn`t pulled on the leash once during our walks. Today we walked the Chandler path and stopped off to get coffee. We met a nice lady on the path who was walking her little chihuahua mix. Bucky sat patiently by my side while we chatted, and he was a calm gentleman with her dog. Just outstanding. Upon our return, I let Nick know about that interaction, and he confirmed that Bucky is really mellow during play group, so that tracks. I firmly believe that he would make an ideal companion for someone who wants a fun dog to walk, play, or hang out. He makes friends wherever he goes, and is just the best little guy.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt *BUCKY, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
