My story

Meet Heidi, a 3 to 4 year old german shepard mix who embodies the essence of loyalty and love. Shy at first in completely new homes, Heidi's heart opens up to reveal a friendly, smart, and goofy personality. She is diligently house trained and kennel trained. She does bark the kennel if she can hear you walking around the home or talking, so she may not be the best fit for apartments. At her current foster home Heidi settles fairly quickly in the kennel and kennels overnight peacefully. At any given point during the day Heidi is ready for a cuddle or play session and just wants to be near someone, becuase she becomes deeply bonded with her person. Heidi LOVES playing chase in the backyard with her canine foster siblings. She also loves wrestling and sharing toys with her canine foster siblings inside the home. Heidi lives in her foster home with a handful of felines that she respects. She doesn't chase the cats. She will go up and sniff them from time to time but mostly let's the cats guide the interaction with her. Heidi would also be a GREAT traveling companion because she loves to adventure so if you or someone you know drives semi, or loves to vacation, Heidi would LOVE to tag along for the ride. Heidi loves to meet new friends of the human or canine variety on walks around the neighborhood. Heidi is incredibly friendly and socially aware in all situations except one. Heidi has spent most of her short life euth listed in shelters or bouncing from foster home to forever home and back to foster home. For such a fun-loving, easy going, low maintence friend, she can't seem to find her forever spot that will accommodate her one faux-paux. It's not a small faux-paux, but it's SO easily workable, that we know there is a FOREVER out there for Heidi. She can be territorial once she think shes found her home, which makes her not too keen on strangers on her turf. She is friendly with visitors in the backyard, but once they come in the home she becomes anxious. This makes her an excellent choice for someone who is an introvert/homebody that also doesn't enjoy people in their space or an extrovert that would love to take her out on an adventure with them. All she needs is someone that will kennel her up if the party is coming home. She is a great choice for someone seeking a faithful extroverted adventure buddy and a low-maintenance roommate. Heidi's intelligence, loyalty, and unique charm make her the perfect addition to any steady home. Adopt Heidi and discover the joy of unwavering canine companionship.
