My story

Charlie is scheduled to arrive at our Christiana PetSmart on Tuesday, Aug. 12. CharlieThe Treasure Among Junk. With a deep, sable-toned brown tabby stripes, Charlie is a striking boy whose charm runs far deeper than his good looks. He was discovered in an old holding yard, surrounded by junk cars and about 15 other cats—survivors in a forgotten corner of town. But Charlie stood out from the start. When we offered food on our side of the fence, Charlie didn’t hesitate—he ran right up to greet us, hopeful and unafraid. After checking for a microchip and asking around the neighborhood, the answer given was “Nope, just a street cat.” Well, not anymore. That was Charlie’s lucky day. He left the junkyard behind with a full belly, a new name, and a promise of a better life—no more scrounging for food or curling up beneath broken-down cars. Now he’s on the road to becoming someone’s beloved companion. As the saying goes: one man’s junk is another’s treasure, and Charlie is truly a gem. Charlie’s foster mom says, 'As you can see in his video, Charlie, is one affectionate and social boy. He is always delighted to visit and snuggle with his human friends. Be sure to take a look at his photos and admire his adorable, innocent face! Charlie was so curious about those masks. He then passed them by and investigated the snazzy cat wall.” You will enjoy petting Charlie as he curls up on your lap after he has been busy playing and exploring. Could Charlie be your new best buddy? Ask to speak with his foster mom about Charlie. We, his foster family, have been impressed with Charlie. This handsome kitty enjoys being busy, is very inquisitive and playful and has already become pals with another foster cat, Juliet (FCID#04/17/2025-61). Charlie is very outgoing and confident. He would do well in a busy home. Check out Charlie’s video. Also, Charlie and Crazy Cat were pals at the shelter. Please submit our no-obligation Adoption Application for a meet and greet or to adopt:  https://forgottencats.org/adoption-application/.  Not ready to adopt?  Please consider fostering:  https://forgottencats.org/foster-a-cat/.   Thank you!  (Foster:  Laurie B) August 12, 2025, 6:17 am
