My story

She's not fine china. She's not that dress that only comes out of the closet for weddings or an anniversary dinner. And she's definitely not that fridge that needlessly connects to your WiFi so it can what, order milk for you before you run out? Weird. But boy howdy...this lady is Fancy! Fancy doesn't require much attention, but at the same time can be demanding of your time and just knows what she needs to be happy. If you're looking for a more independent type of feline who won't be laying across your arms while you're trying to type this like some cats I know and live with, Fancy is your gal! She is just more lowkey like that, and prefers to spend her days in the sunlight and up high on different perches before coming down for her daily requirements of head scritches and refilled bowl of noshes. She would likely prefer to be your only pet due to a history of stress towards dogs and no known history around cats, but has lived with children and could be alright with cat-savvy younger kids who know to give her space when she's feeling more isolationist.  Fancy was originally taken in by a roommate when the other person in the home moved out, but found her way to PAWS due to some ongoing medical issues with her mouth (stomatitis, dental disease). She had most of her teeth removed last year and is currently being tapered off a round of steroids to treat a recent bought of inflammation. Her new family should be prepared to treat any future flare-ups as they come up, which can happen due to her stomatitis. Feel free to ask our staff for more info! Age: ~2 years old How I came to PAWS: Owner Surrender Animal ID#: A57266 I am in a foster home and am not at the shelter. This is not a walk-in facility, so please email adoptions@phillypaws.org to set up a time to meet this kitty! _____________________________________ To adopt a cat, complete the application at phillypaws.org/catapp. To adopt a dog, complete the application at phillypaws.org/dogapp.  To adopt a small animal, complete the application at phillypaws.org/small-animal-adoption-application.           Please reference this animal's ID NUMBER when inquiring. PAWS is the city's largest rescue partner and provider of low-cost, basic veterinary care. Through our adoption locations, special events, and network of foster homes, PAWS finds loving homes for thousands of animals every year. PAWS is working to make Philadelphia a no-kill city where every healthy and treatable pet is guaranteed a home.  Please visit  www.phillypaws.org  for more information on adopting, fostering, volunteering, or donating.   April 16, 2025, 6:08 pm
