My story

Meet Candy (aka Kit)! This energetic and curious pup is ready to find her forever home! Candy, affectionately called "Kit" by her foster family, is a high-energy adventurer who would thrive with an active family—especially one with another playful pup in the home. While she didn’t have doggie playtime until she was mostly vaccinated, she’s since discovered a love for romping with canine companions. She’ll play all day if she has a willing buddy, though she can be a bit protective of her food and toys. Candy has been exposed to men, women, children, and other dogs, and she’s friendly with everyone she meets. She's especially playful with kids, though she can be a little mouthy during play, so supervision is a good idea with younger ones. Her behavior with cats is unknown. She’s house-trained and already knows commands like sit, stay, wait (with a hand signal), and come. Candy walks well on leash with a no-pull harness and loves exploring the world with you. Her foster has introduced her to all sorts of new experiences—vacuums, lawn mowers, sanitation trucks, strangers, and even long car rides. While she was reactive to many of these early on, she’s made huge progress and continues to grow in confidence. Candy would do best in a home with another dog and a family who can keep up with her adventurous spirit. She's smart, resilient, and ready to be your loyal sidekick.
