My story

This pet is eligible for the SENIORS ADOPTING SENIORS initiative! Seniors (65+) are permitted to adopt a senior dog (8+) for the reduced fee of $75.00 ABOUT ME… Hi, I’m Perseus—Percy for short! I’m a sweet, easygoing boy who came to CoPAW after my owners lost their jobs and couldn’t keep me. They loved me very much and made sure I had a strong foundation: I’m crate-trained, potty-trained, and leash-trained! I absolutely love relaxing in my crate or cuddling up on a comfy dog bed. As I settle in, I’m spending more time out of my crate and showing off my affectionate side. I’m healthy, full of love, and ready for a fresh start with a family to call my own. I AM GREAT WITH… Other animals, kids, and pretty much everyone I meet! I wag my tail for new friends and love to soak up attention—and a good nap. I’m happiest when I can romp in a fenced yard, snuggle up with my people, and then crash into my cozy dog bed for a snooze. I AM STILL WORKING ON… Resisting the urge to pant excitedly in my foster mom’s face! I’m just so happy to be near my people. I AM NOT GOOD WITH… Slippery hardwood floors. My older hips and long nails make them a little challenging, but I’m doing better every day! Rugs or carpeted paths around the house would make me feel extra safe and comfortable. VETTING... ~All animals in our care are spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (age 1 & up), given preventatives, and provided with initial vaccinations AT MINIMUM. ~If booster shots have not been completed prior to adoption, they may be completed at our clinic in Columbus, OH at no additional expense. Alternatively, the adopter can use their own vet to boost vaccinations, at their own expense. TERMS & CONDITIONS... ~Adopters must reside in the State of Ohio. ~No transportation assistance is provided; adopter must commute for meet & greet. ~Meet & greets are not scheduled until there is an approved adoption application on file. ~The expectation is that you will bring your new pet home from the meet & greet, if all goes well. Please be prepared to do so by bringing a collar, leash, harness, crate, etc. to secure your new pet.
