My story

Atlas is a sweet boy that has the most adorable permanent wink! He is looking for a foster home to relax in while he is receiving medical treatment.Reason for Foster: Calicivirus, Right Eye Abnormality, Awaiting Dental, Ringworm Foster Time Frame: 2 Weeks(The foster time frame could be longer depending on future medical results and needs.) Foster Care Plan: Atlas is a sweet boy looking for a short stay in a foster home until he is ready for his dental surgery. Atlas also has microphthalmia in his right eye which is a congenital condition where the eyeball is abnormally small. This kitty has suspected calicivirus, a common upper respiratory condition in cats. While it’s treatable with supportive care, some cats may carry the virus even after they’re no longer sick. This means they might occasionally shed the virus, though they often stay symptom-free. Calicivirus is contagious to other cats, so it’s best if they’re fostered away from other felines, or with cats who are already vaccinated. This kiddo is also being treated for ringworm, which is a fungal skin infection. This can be contagious, so it is recommended that they be kept in a room away from other pets. Be sure to wash your hands and change clothing after interacting with them. A room without upholstered furniture or carpet is ideal. He will need regular lime sulfur dips and will go home with an antifungal medication. We will provide a full medical consultation at pickup to ensure you are prepared to take great care of this sweet boy!Visit this link to learn more about fostering a pet with Ringworm: https://operation-kindness-foster.my.canva.site/ringworm-foster-guide Foster to Adopt: Atlas is available through our Foster to Adopt program, which allows pets awaiting or undergoing medical treatment to be placed with prospective adopters before they are made available for adoption. If you are interested in becoming a foster, please visit https://www.operationkindness.org/foster/ or email us at foster@operationkindness.org to learn more.

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Atlas, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
