My story

What my friends at ACC say about me:I love to be loved, but on my own terms! Let's brush up on some feline body language together!I'll need daily interaction with you as I get used to my new life.Cookie has taken quite a while to warm up in the shelter, but she's finally succeeded! She's no longer hissing, and she came forward curious with large eyes and enjoyed all petting, leaning in nicely for cheek rubs. She was a little bit wary and pulled back initially, but once contact was made, she was very friendly. She also loved squeeze up and was reasonably calm when picked up and held and set back down.>/p>Cookie tolerates attention and petting but appears fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.A volunteer writes:  I absolutely love Cookie! When I approached her kennel she proudly walked straight to the front and stuck her head out for head pets. I joke around and say how horrible it is to try and get content of Cookie because all she wanted to do was get close to me which makes it very hard to take a video, but I guess that's a good problem to have! Cookie is also very curious and during our entire interaction spent time looking at her downstairs neighbor and the neighbors on either side of her, trying to say hello and check in on them.
