My story

: 🏡 Meet Essex!! 🏡 Essex came to the shelter on 4/1/25 with his friend Espy, and at about 7 years old, this handsome guy is still full of personality (and plenty of zoomies). He’s sweet, affectionate, and wants nothing more than to be close to his people—he’s definitely a “shadow dog” who’ll happily follow you from room to room. Essex is also strong and a little stubborn, so he’ll need someone who can match his determination while appreciating his goofy charm. He loves to run, so be ready to give him some space to stretch those legs. As for cats? Well, Essex passed his cat test, but think of him like that pushy neighbor who always shows up uninvited. He’s talkative, curious, and may try to play whether the cat wants to or not. We don’t think he’d hurt a cat, but slow introductions and supervision will be important to make sure everyone gets along.
