My story

Well… Louie is back with us again. His journey with our rescue started back in 2018 when he was first relinquished. After finding a home, Louie spent four years with his owner and two pug siblings, living a good life. Unfortunately, life took a tough turn when Louie's owner developed ALS and could no longer care for the grumble. Louie and his friends were returned to us, and while one pug was adopted separately, Louie and his closest companion were adopted together, giving Louie another two happy years.Sadly, Louie’s life took yet another unexpected turn when his pug friend passed away. To make things even harder, his new family became pregnant and, unable to care for him anymore, brought him back to the rescue. Louie was adopted again, but this time, he didn’t get along with his adopter’s partner, and once again, Louie found himself back at the rescue. Now 10 years old, Louie is looking for a place where he can finally settle down for good.Louie may be a bit of a character. He’s got some mild arthritis and has had surgery for a luxating patella, but he’s still in pretty good shape for his age. Louie’s not the most active guy—he prefers short strolls and basking in the sun. He’s not here for endless play sessions, but he’s more than content taking life at his own pace. He’s got some quirks too. Louie can be head shy and a little nippy, especially if things are moving too fast for his liking. He’s definitely a "take it slow" kind of guy and prefers his surroundings to be calm and predictable.Given all he’s been through, Louie deserves a home where he can feel secure and relaxed. He’d do best in a quiet, adult-only home, and while he might be fine with a mellow dog, he’s just as happy being the only pet. Louie has been through a lot, but he's ready for a stable, loving environment where he can finally enjoy his golden years.
