My story

Meet Jacob – A True Gentleman Looking for His Golden Years Home Jacob is the kind of dog who makes you smile just by being near. At 13 (almost 14) years old and a sturdy 52 pounds, he’s the definition of a sweet, easygoing companion who’s ready to enjoy life at a gentler pace. This all-around nice guy is as friendly as they come. Jacob loves people and greets everyone with a calm, happy demeanor. He’s well-mannered in public and makes a great sidekick for outings. He takes treats ever so gently, knows how to “sit,” and walks beautifully on a leash—no pulling, just pleasant strolls with his person by his side. Jacob also shows signs of being housetrained and is crate trained, making transitions into a new home smooth and stress-free. He seems to enjoy the company of others and would do best with other dogs who are low to medium energy, as his own vibe is more chill and laid-back. Whether you’re looking for a quiet walking buddy, a calm presence around the house, or just a loyal friend to share your days with, Jacob is the perfect match. He’s got a lot of love left to give and is hoping to spend his golden years surrounded by comfort, care, and kindness. Jacob will need a home where his owners are physically capable of taking care of his needs, such as lifting him into the car or assisting him when going down many steps (he does well with a few steps). Come meet Jacob—your gentle-hearted senior who’s ready to be someone’s very best boy. To meet Jacob, text his foster mom Krista at (336) 804-0954 to make an appointment!

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Jacob, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
