My story

Here I am, the stupendous, the wonderful, the amazing... Feliz, the great. Did I put that on a little too thick? It's true though. Keep reading, you'll see. Why Feliz, you ask? Because I am always a smiling, happy boy. Feliz means happy in Spanish.My rescuer was vacationing in Guatamala during the Summer of 2024. I followed her around the city for a few days. Every morning she awoke, I’d be patiently waiting for her outside the Airbnb. One afternoon, I thought I’d lost her and let out such a heartbreaking cry that she decided then and there she was going to help me find the family and love I deserve. So she brought me to Mexico with her.I am an eager to please and learn type guy. Hence, my rescuer sent me to a training programs. I have learned all kinds of nice obedience manners and have basic commands down pat. With my training, I heel perfectly. I'm sure we can go on hikes on the trails or runs on the beach, as my preference is open areas to run and explore.I show my relaxed exterior when in the house. Generally quiet in the house, you'll usually find me hanging out sleeping or chewing on a bone. No bad habits like chewing on shoes, furniture, etc... for me.That doesn't mean I don't like getting out for play and fun times though. I like to play & wrestle for 15-20 min, then happy to go take a nap again.I love my rescuer's dog. Since I am still playful and have a bit of separation anxiety yet, having another dog around would be helpful for me. Likely either a dominant, but also calm and patient dog or a completely submissive one would work best.When on leash only in the city craziness and walking with my rescuer's dog, I can be a little reactive. When alone though, I do very well, especially in the quieter countryside. At a dog park loose, no problems at all. The city life seems to over-stimulate my senses, so I'd do much better in a more peaceful environment outside the city, a quiet suburb or acreage. Strangely enough though, I am used to loud noises like traffic, music, thunder, fireworks, etc... When meeting new people, I need time to warm up to them. Cats, uh no. Kids, probably not best suited for a home with small kids. No aggressions, they are just a bit loud and unpredicatable for me. So a young to older teen is fine.I think I'd do well with someone who knows how to be firm, yet positive. Likely having a male caretaker in the family would suit me well. An experienced home who can maintain my training is best, as I thrive with consistently enforced rules and boundaries. If you let things slip on behaviors, my dominant, naughty side comes out. Ruh roh. Sounds just like a kid, doesn't it?With consistency, stability and love, I will be the best dog ever. You will love seeing my smiling face greeting you every morning. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. [MID-EAST] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza.
