My story

Hi my friends! My name is Nessa and here's some information about me: PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Terrier mix (a best guess!) Age: 3 years 2 months approx.  Gender: Female Weight: 44lbs (20 kg)  Current Location: Guadalajara Mexico RESCUE STORY - I was found living on the streets of a town called Paracho. Street life was really tough for me because I looked a little different from the other street dawgs...I had patchy hair and I looked a bit worse for wear. This unfortunately caused me to be bothered by other dogs and people - some who would even try to scare me, hit me or throw water at me! One day a kind lady found me and took me to the vet. It was here that I was diagnosed with Cushing's Syndrome and we had an answer for my patchy hair! Now with my medication, I am feeling much better and ready to find love with a hooman family to call my own (for the very first time)! My ideal hoomans will be able to help me manage my condition which requires daily medication (one pill a day) and frequent blood tests. In exchange, I will give them endless cuddles and love and be the bestest girl they ever met! TEMPERAMENT - I'm a real gem! My foster family describes me as calm, gentle, sweet, quiet and low energy. I am also friendly towards everyone and everything - including cats, kids and other pups! What more could you ask for? I really love being around hoomans and am somewhat of a couch potato. However when I do venture out, either for a car ride or a little walk, I am extremely well behaved. ENERGY LEVEL - Low  GETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Yes! I do well with kids as you can see here.  Dogs – Yes! I get along very well with other pups. Cats – Yes! I am good with cats as you can see here.  PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise. TRAINING: Leash skills – My rescuer says I am very good with this as you can see here, however I may need some additional patience and training. House trained – My rescuer says I am very good with this but I may need some additional training and patience.  Crate trained – My rescuer says I am very good with this but I may need some additional training and patience.  Car rides – My rescuer says I am excellent in a car as you can see here but I may need some additional training and patience.  Please Note: WCP highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives.  HEALTH NOTES:  I have Cushing's Syndrome, an endocrine disorder which is managed with a daily medication (one pill a day). This has altered my appearance and this conditon will require regular blood tests.  I am spayed and vaccinated. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter. ADOPTION FEE: My adoption fee is $690.00 CAD including tax (5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver. ------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Please visit wcpdogrescue.com to read about West Coast Paws Dog Rescue and it's adoption process. The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.  WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.  ##2357254##

If you have any questions or would like to adopt NESSA, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
