My story

Viggo is a sweet Yorkshire terrier mix boy. According to the person who bred him, he is more than 75% Yorkshire terrier, but they do not know what the other 25% is. He is definitely on the tall side for a Yorkie. At just over a year and a half he weighs and he will not get any bigger. He is a sweet boy who was raised outdoors with his parents and siblings. He was very scared when he first came, but he has warmed up a lot and after he gets to know you, he is just as sweet as he can be. He is learning how to walk on a leash and learning how to play with toys for the first time. He came in with his sister and she has been adopted. Like many of our rescue dogs, we are not sure how well housetrained Viggo is. But with gentle persuasion, some consistency, structure and praise he should be easy to train. Viggo is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will need occasional professional grooming. Viggo’s adoption fee is $400 This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also allow us the ability to put funds towards the next homeless or unwanted dog in need of rescue! Please understand that sometimes we get numerous applications for specific dogs and as a volunteer-based rescue, we do not always have the time to respond to each one. We do our best to choose the most suitable home for each dog based on their specific personality and needs. Please note you MAY NOT be contacted for up to 10 days to schedule a meet and greet if your family is the most suitable for this rescue dog. Regrettably, we do not have the manpower currently to contact all applicants. We keep ALL applications in our database so please feel free to contact us when you see another dog of interest. We appreciate all applicants and do our best to pair every dog and family for a successful and happy life.
