My story

I am at Oakland Animal Services in kennel Dog J:4Clara is a young, butterscotch-colored pittie with a sweet heart and a lot of love to give! She's less than a year old and still learning about the world. She finds comfort in gentle company—especially yours. She came to the shelter underweight and clearly malnourished, but even through that tough start, she's shown nothing but sweetness and a desire to be close. This little one is a true lap dog at heart. The moment she left her kennel, she leaned into her person, craving soft contact and comfort. Once seated, she wasted no time curling up on a lap, settling in for cuddles and a quiet moment. She's not too interested in toys, but she enjoys slow strolls and sniffing around the yard. Clara is still young and would benefit from basic obedience training to help her learn boundaries and build good habits as she grows. Clara absolutely adores calm, friendly dogs and has been doing wonderfully in morning playgroups. She greets her dog friends with wagging tails and gentle muzzle licks, showing she's happiest when surrounded by kind companions. She would do best in a peaceful home with other gentle dogs or with access to friendly dog buddies if placed as a solo dog. Clara will thrive in a calm, patient home with post-adoption vet care, loving guidance, and plenty of gentle affection. She's a special pup who just wants to feel safe, loved, and part of a kindhearted pack—human or canine.April 24, 2025, 3:45 pm
