Moana

My story

Our sweet girl is Moana, came back to us due to no fault of her own here is what her foster family told us.This active happy girl brought so much joy to her foster family. She is very playful with all people (loves men!) and dogs (cats unknown). She enjoys going on walks and playing in the yard, and is a wizard at brain games. She is an angel being bathed, nails filed, and brushed. She likes toys, loves food, and more than anything loves other dogs! She is under a year old so her playful puppy energy means she misses social cues when other dogs don’t want to play- supervised dog interactions during the 3-3-3 adoption process will help set her up for success. She is very brave and smart! She knows sit, rest, down, and a release. She is still learning ‘come’ because her puppy brain is still easily distracted. She responds well to a stern “no” and rarely makes the same mistake twice. Great in the car, sleeps 8p-8a quietly, and rarely barks or vocalizes. She is housebroken with routine potty breaks and keeping structure will ensure she stays housebroken. Not destructive, but interested in everything around her. She loves being included! She gets very bored in the crate and would benefit from a home that spends the time crate training her so that she learns it is a quiet resting place. An owner who hikes, is social, and can make Moana their sidekick will make her dreams come true! ————————Longer assessment summary:People: loves people of all ages and demographics. Was around children, men, and women. Does really well with men in particular which is so sweet!Sleep: sleeps through the night. Naturally winds down around 8pm when she snuggles up in bed. We have been giving her a bathroom break around 10pm and then she settles right back down again for the night. Tends to wake up around 7a-8a.Affection: she is SOOO sweet. She loves to give kisses and always up for an invite to sit with you or snuggle. She is especially snuggly at night. She also enjoys being held and finds it calming. When she takes naps or goes to sleep at night she always reaches out a paw to be touching our other dog. Training and obedience: She walks very nicely on a leash. She has learned “sit,” “down,” and “come” in less than a week. She is very close to learning “rest” with a release word of “okay.” She is not yet fully crate trained but has been practicing. She will do well in a home that continues this training so she learns h
