Known for forming strong bonds with their people, they are often affectionate lap dogs who crave companionship. With their alert and curious personalities, Chihuahuas are expressive and often full of character. They tend to be sensitive and thrive in calm, loving environments. A Chihuahua is a devoted and spirited little companion who just wants a soft place to land and a warm person to love. Kitty’s Story & Personality Kitty is a sweet but timid little lady who came to the rescue a bit under-socialized. She is learning lots of new and wonderful things about being a beloved pet in her foster home and is loving all the cozy, fluffy blankets she gets to burrow into! Kitty can be skittish and a little shy when meeting new people, but with patience, she warms up and enjoys gentle pets and cuddles. She’s very calm, quiet, and rarely makes a peep according to her foster mom. Kitty is both potty-trained and crate-trained, and she loves curling up in her crate for a nap (especially with a good pile of blankets!). She gets along with the other dogs in her foster home, although she prefers to keep to herself rather than engage in play. She enjoys time outside and is learning how to walk on a leash—we think she’ll love short neighborhood strolls once she gains more confidence! She has a history of mammary gland cysts (which have been removed) and is being monitored for an enlarged heart and signs of intervertebral disc disease. She is resilient, shows no signs of pain, and still enjoys life—she just needs the chance to feel safe and loved in a forever home.
