Meet Challah! This pretty girl and her siblings were transferred to us from a shelter partner quite some time ago. These sweet pups did not have the best start in life, but have persevered and we are excited to finally show them off so they can find their forever homes! This basket of bread pups did undergo a long and tough treatment in an isolated quarantine room for a fungal skin infection. They have since recovered and are much healthier than when they came in, but we always want to emphasize the importance of giving our pets proper medical care, a nutritious diet and an environment they can thrive in. They are definite foodies and not super fond of sharing their food, so if you have other animals in the home, please keep them separated as an act of caution. Busy feeders will also be the best way to feed them right now as well to help them slow down and digest; it also serves as a good source of enrichment! Challah did get to spend some time out on foster where she met some dogs and kids! Her foster mom says `Challah loves squeaky toys, and playing fetch, but probably loves cuddling with her human and canine pals the most. She is very calm and well behaved for a puppy. She had lots of positive experience with children and dogs while in foster.` While affectionate and playful, we do still ask that adopters do slow introductions with these pups when meeting new people and animals. Having a canine pal in the home that can help her gain confidence would benefit Challah, but it is not required at this time. These pups do play hard at times and are a little nippy so any adopters with younger children in the home would need to bear this in mind. These sweet pups will be sure to thrive in a home that will provide lots of love and care and adopters will need to be able and willing to raise a young pup. If you are interested in meeting Challah or her siblings, please see a Kennel technician!***Please check with any leasing offices/landlords/HOAs as needed for both breed and weight restrictions. The bread pups are Pit Bull mixes who are still growing! While unsure just how big they will be once fully grown, we estimate them to be ~40+lbs and Rye will definitely be the biggest in the batch!***
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Challah, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
