My story

***seeking Foster-to-Adopt*** Say hello to Alice, a 7-month-old Bull Terrier mix who’s 28 pounds of pure puppy joy and ears that may or may not double as satellite dishes. 📡 She’s sweet, she’s bouncy, and she’s got that classic “I’m ready to take on the world” puppy energy—and then some. Alice is the kind of pup who: 🌲 Hikes like a champ – Off-leash? No problem. She loves hitting the trails with her dog pals and frolicking like nature’s very own energizer bunny. 🧠 Eager to learn – She’s a smart cookie who wants to please her people (and maybe score a treat or three). 👧👦 Kid-approved – She’s sweet and snuggly with kids and would happily let them serve as cuddle buddies and snack distributors. 🎾 Play-mode always ON – She’s very puppyish and playful, which is adorable… unless you're an older dog trying to retire in peace. If your dog is more “nap enthusiast” than “tag champion,” they might find Alice’s energy a bit much. Alice is still learning the ropes and definitely needs training—she’s got all the potential and just needs someone patient to help shape it! Now, here’s the twist in Alice’s puppy tale: during her spay appointment, the vet discovered she has a very loud heart murmur. She had heart surgery in May for pulmonary stenosis at Tufts in Grafton, MA and is recovering beautifully! She’s currently on twice-daily meds and will need to go back for a follow-up appointment around September. If all looks good then, she can be spayed and officially start her next chapter. So, we’re on the hunt for a Foster-to-Adopt unicorn 🦄—someone who can give Alice the love and care she deserves and get her to her specialist appointments. Alice has a heart that needed a little help, but she’s making up for lost time with every tail wag and goofy zoomie. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
