My story

Hi there! My name is Holmes and I'm a 1-year-old, neutered, shepherd mix that currently weighs about 40lbs. I'm still a growing a bit and will likely reach around 50lbs. My friends here at PHS say I'm a total sweetheart. I absolutely adore going on walks and my leash skills are top tier! I could be the perfect adventure buddy because I love being outdoors with my favorite person and I would love to go on hikes to learn more about our great big world! I sometimes get overwhelmed if I'm rushed, so I'm hoping to find a patient family that's familiar with the needs of under socialized boys like me. Just like Sherlock Holmes, I'd like to be a super sleuth so socialization and training is a must. I love snacks and I know together we can be a team as great as Sherlock and Watson! It's elementary! For more information about me, just ask Customer Service about Holmes ID# A957713  Unless otherwise indicated, adoptable animals are located at our Lantos Center for Compassion at 1450 Rollins Road, Burlingame, CA 94010.  You may call us at 650-340-7022 to schedule an appointment, or just drop by. Drop-In hours for Same Day Adoptions are 11 am – 5 pm, 7 days a week (closed major holidays). We do our best to update our listings regularly, but we can’t guarantee every animal you see is still available. It’s also typical for us to have animals who haven’t had their photos taken yet, so you are welcome to visit our adoption center and have a look around! To check on an animal's adoption status, please call 650-340-7022 during normal business hours to speak with an adoption counselor.
