My story

Meet Colby – Your Loyal, Loving, and Slightly Goofy Best Friend! Colby is a strikingly handsome 4-year-old Shepherd/Husky mix with a heart as big as his paws. Raised with love and excellent care, Colby comes with the full package: he’s well-trained, knows all his basic commands (sit, shake, down, stay), and even patiently waits for his food to be set down before eating. He’s fully potty trained, crate trained, and puts himself to bed around 9:30 PM—although he’d be overjoyed to snuggle in your bed if given the chance! Colby is a social guy through and through. He grew up alongside a Dachshund and spent time playing with a Pit Bull. Currently, he’s best buds with a 25-pound Terrier in his foster home. He’s great with dogs of all sizes, respectful of toys and food, and has no resource guarding issues whatsoever. He lives for tennis balls and will proudly carry one around, holding it delicately in the front of his mouth. He’s been a regular at dog parks and doggy daycare, where his friendly and outgoing nature shines. He’s great with strangers, kids, and everyone in between. And he LOVES car rides—he’s the chill co-pilot who’ll stick his head out the window and soak in the breeze. Colby’s perfect match would be someone familiar with the quirky traits of Shepherds or Huskies—because yes, he does have a mischievous streak. He’s been known to “rescue” napkins and paper towels when you’re not looking! On walks, he may get a little amped if another dog gets excited, so he needs a confident, calm leader to guide him. Whether you’re working from home, watching TV, or brushing your teeth, Colby will be nearby—quietly offering kisses, loyalty, and companionship. This sweet, goofy, soulful boy is ready to be someone’s forever. He’s not just a dog—he’s a best friend, a couch buddy, a hiking partner, and a heart healer. Are you ready to give Colby the permanent, loving home he’s been waiting for? He’s ready to give you his whole heart.  Follow Colby's adventures on his Instagram account: www.instagram.com/icare_colby If you are interested in adopting, please visit the I.C.A.R.E. Dog Rescue website and complete an adoption application: www.icaredogrescue.org/ready-to-adopt Adoption fee includes: spay/neuter • shots up to date • micro-chip • fecal and vet check Breed and age are not guaranteed.Click here to watch a video of Colby.August 6, 2025, 6:50 pm
