My story

Hi, I’m Checkers, and I’m part of the "Board Games Crew" here at the shelter! I came to the shelter after my owner passed away, and I didn’t have anywhere else to go. It’s been a tough transition, but I’m slowly finding my way, and I’m ready to find a forever home where I can feel safe and loved again. I’m a little shy at first, but deep down, all I really want is love, food, and snuggles 24/7. I’ll take all the affection I can get, and I promise I’m very sweet once you get to know me. I’m the perfect cat for a slow-paced home, where I can settle in and enjoy the quiet life, but don’t let that fool you—I’ve got a playful side, too! I love to play around when I’m feeling comfortable and will definitely keep you entertained. I’m just looking for a kind soul who will give me the time to adjust and then shower me with the love I deserve. If you’re someone who can offer me a cozy home full of snuggles and a little playtime, I’d love to be your companion for life!
