My story

All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, shots current (DHPP, Bordetella and Rabies where applicable), dewormed, flea and tick treated, and microchipped.  * If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application. Our adoption fees vary. Each biography will specifically list the adoption fee. This dog will be at Palo Alto Pet Food Express on Saturday, May 3rd from 12-3pm or until adopted. If you would like the first opportunity to adopt, please fill out an application to be considered.   Adoption Fee: $650   Picnic is a 2 year old Jack Russell Terrier x Beagle mix who’s ready to open up the basket of life and choose the tastiest treat! Picnic was rescued from the shelter after being left behind at the local park and we scooped this 11 pound pint of adorableness promising nothing but love in her future! Picnic is a low rider so if you’re ready for a loyal and loving companion who keeps things cool as a cucumber, adopt her today!    Picnic is a loving and curious gal who can’t wait to explore the world outside her door! When she first arrived at her foster home she was a bit shy, but we soon saw her amazing personality blossom as she made herself comfortable. She loves keeping her humans company and is always down for a snuggle but she can also keep herself busy when she needs to. She loves snack time and is frequently found chomping down on an apple or a banana slice when her humans head to the kitchen. Picnic is a total lounger and she loves her stuffed toys which she uses as pillows when she snoozes. She is still figuring out how to “dog” but she is making great progress every day! She also loves her adventures though and is happy to trot by your side for miles at a time. Picnic would thrive in an environment where she can spend her days with her humans as she shows them love. She would be a fabulous coworker for someone who works from home or someone who can take a companion to the office with them. Picnic can’t wait to unwrap her new chapter and chow down with you!  Picnic starts her morning at 6 AM with a potty break followed by some snuggles. She goes out for her morning walk and then happily returns home for her breakfast with her humans. During the workday, she keeps her humans company from her soft dog bed, taking occasional breaks for romps in the yard or potty breaks. She rests for the remainder of the day and then has her dinner at 5 PM before her evening stroll. At 9 PM she goes out for one last potty and then she puts on her jammies and heads to bed! Picnic has lived with dogs previously and does well with calm energy. She would prefer a quieter adult only home, or a home with older kids. Picnic walks well on a leash and is completely house trained. Picnic is excited for a lifetime of adventures and snacks so come on down and meet our gal! May 2, 2025, 4:51 am

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Picnic, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
