🎶 Why Don’t You Come On Over, Valerie? 💕 Meet Valerie—a soft-hearted sweetheart with gentle eyes and a royal soul. This elegant girl is ready to leave the shelter life behind and settle into the pampered, peaceful home she knows she deserves. Valerie is all about the finer things in life: plush dog beds, cookies delivered straight to her (preferably while lounging), and daily strolls to stretch her legs and soak in the sunshine. She's a girls’ girl through and through—graceful, social, and sweet with other dogs, and she’s done well with respectful teens who understand that a princess has her boundaries. She walks beautifully on leash and enjoys a mix of quiet time and play—just enough fun before retreating back to her cozy castle for a snooze. If you’ve got a royal vacancy in your heart (and your home), Valerie is ready to fill it—with love, loyalty, and a little bit of diva charm. 💅 Come on over and meet Valerie—you’ll be singing her name in no time. When I arrived at Anderson Animal Shelter from their partner shelter in Oklahoma, I tested positive for Heartworm. The staff believes that the best place for Heartworm positive dogs like me to be while going through treatments and recovering is with a loving and forever family like yours. If you choose to adopt me, the clinic staff will be with you every step of the way, answering questions and offering support. The process from detection to the final treatment is generally three months and involves some simple at-home steps to keep me safe while I recover. The last step in the process is a follow-up test six months after my treatment begins. The Heartworm treatment process is highly successful and the staff anticipates that I will fully recover! Yeah! And you should know that Heartworm can only be transmitted from animal to animal by mosquitoes. My adoption comes with some extra benefits at the time of adoption! Valerie is an All-Star dog, and her adoption appointment includes a discussion with the training team, as well as a few enrichment goodies to help get you both off to a good start. To learn more about Valerie or to schedule an appointment to meet her, please email info@ahconnects.org (including your name and phone number), and the staff will be happy to assist you. Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Valerie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
