My story

My foster writes:Colleen is a 13-year-old lovebug looking for her forever lap! This gentle beauty may seem like plain white and gray at first glance, but step into the sunlight, and you'll see her subtle stripes in her shiny gray fur, the perfect compliment to her beautiful emerald green eyes. She's the ideal companion for anyone who loves cozy cuddles and warm sunbeams, and is great with kids as well, perhaps making a great addition to a multigenerational home. Colleen adores curling up on a fuzzy blanket, purring away while you give her gentle pets. She's as polite as can be-never scratchy, never sassy, just pure sweetness! And if you're in the mood for a chat, Colleen will happily join in with her chirpy meows. She'd be a wonderful addition to any home looking for a calm, affectionate, and oh-so-loving feline friend.Give this precious girl a sunny spot and a little love, and she'll be your best buddy forever!A volunteer writes:A nice and pretty lady, Colleen is a classy little number. Initially a bit hesitant and shy, you'll have to wine her and dine her first. After many minutes of soft talk and numerous treats (both at the same time) she leaned into my hand for those famous chin & cheek rubs and a good petting down. The key is "slow and easy". She had to familiarize herself with me first, as many kitties must in a shelter environment. For those of you with other cats, Colleen previously lived with a few cats(13 more exactly), and I'm told, even groomed some of them. Her former owner said she was friendly, playful and affectionate with everyone. If you'd like to enjoy an evening of quiet conversation and tasty treats with this nice, sweet girl, she's right here at the Manhattan ACC. I'm sure once you get to know each other a bit, Colleen would be delighted to come home with you for some late night catnip. A classy catch. What my friends at ACC say about me:I have lived with cats in my previous home.I am a sweet, shy, older gal, looking for the perfect forever home!Cheek and chin scratches make me so happy!I am a cat that is in need of a lap! I can't wait to be your new lap cat.I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. Primary Color: Gray Tabby Secondary Color: White Weight: 8.32 Age: 13yrs 7mths 3wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Colleen, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
