Peach

My story

Peach has been a great momma to her babies but is ready to have her own home and family away from the little ones. She was so good at caring for her three pups and showed so much patience. She is about a year old, so she is still a puppy herself. Like all teenagers, she is still learning the ropes and will need training to walk on a leash and learn basic commands. She loves her snacks, so training should be easy. She is comfortable being outside for long periods of time and looks to the other dogs in the household to try to understand the house rules. She is great around other dogs her size (22 lbs.), but cats are too big of a temptation for her. Peach loves to chase them a bit too much so she needs to be in a cat free household. She hasn't been tested with children, but I don't believe older children would present an issue because of her timid nature. She is a little lowrider and is part basset hound, so her short stature is easy for kids to manage. Every once in a while, she will even bay like a hound dog when she wants to get your attention. When Peach gets excited, she has a tendency to jump up, so she might not be a good fit for families with babies or toddlers. She has a lot of young dog energy - she loves to chase toys and do laps around the backyard, so an active household with a family who would take the time to get that energy out would be a great fit for her. She sleeps well through the night in a crate or separate room but prefers to be where the people are. She is a great dog that needs the opportunity to become a part of a forever family and be spoiled like she deserves. She is scheduled for her spay on April 11th but can be pre-adopted or fostered to adopt immediately.
