My story

Hi! My name is Rexa and I am from Kentucky. I’m a very happy girl and so excited to meet you. I sure do love my people – I will never turn down an opportunity to get some belly rubs, ear scratches, and snuggles from my family. Here’s some fun facts about me: • I am a young, playful Shepherd mix who likes everyone – dogs, people – although, I might use my voice when we first meet as I’m still learning and new things & new people can be scary. • Potty Training: I’m still working on this, but doing really great. Mom is trying to teach me to ring a bell, but that’s still a foreign concept. • Crate Training: I can’t say I love this, but it’s a work in progress. • I live with my resident sister, Winnie! We love to romp around and play (& steal each other’s toys!). I also have two human brothers (10 & 12) and I love to give them kisses. • I love food and am very motivated by food, which is helping with training. I’ve already learned “sit” in my first week. I’d love to show you what a sweet, happy girl I am, so please come and meet me – I’d be a perfect addition to your family! From the Foster Mom: Rexa is making progress on crate training, but it’s still overwhelming for her. Sometimes she goes in there and is quiet and other times she vocalizes her dislike. This is something we will continue to work on. She’s met lots of new people & kids in her first week with. She sometimes barks at new people in our home, but she warms up within 1-2 minutes. Any family will be so lucky to have her! Additionally, we do not have cats, so can't say for sure how she'd do with them.
