My story

Introducing Skeletor! This gorgeous orange boy was recently surrendered to us because he was being aggressive towards his previous owner's toddler. Our staff figured, we get it, toddlers are a lot! He'll probably be fine in a new environment! Welllllll...we are eating those words a little bit...Skeletor is taking some time showing us his good side. So far he is pretty clear that he is not impressed with being in a cage, but until we can trust he won't beat us up we are taking small steps and gradually giving him more space. He recently graduated from our "intake room" which has small cages now that he is fully vaccinated and snap tested, so we hope he'll chill out a bit. He is in our kitchen in a bigger cage where he can judge us from across the room and get used to more people visiting, socializing cats, and hang out with the other kitties. The weird thing is, despite Skeletor hissing, he likes pets! If you are brave enough to slowly put your hand on top of his head and skritch him, not only does he stop hissing but he leans into it! Totally loves it! So we think this guy needs a home with a cat whisperer and no kids to stress him out, but also someone that won't take offense if he hisses at you.Skeletor is about 8.5 years old (as of March 2025), snap tested negative for FIV/FELV, up to date on vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. All he needs is you, your suit of armor, and your nerves of steel to love him. If you have any questions or would like to adopt Skeletor, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
