My story

What Shutter`s foster has to say about him: Meet Shutter- the goodest boy in all the land! At only 6 years young he really is the whole package. He transitioned so effortlessly into our home, he is a very easy-going dog. He likes to follow us around the house and lay by our side. While we are gone he just finds a nice comfy spot to nap the day away. He is crate-trained and potty-trained, he does roam free while we are gone. He really does love everyone he meets, strange danger who? Bonus is that he even loves and does really well with children. He is a big, big fan of his toys, loves a car ride and is mastering walking on a leash.His only ask is that there are no other male dogs in the house!Shutter was able to go on a Dog Day Out recently where they said Shutters had a blast on a two-hour adventure through the trails at Lakeside Nature Center, happily exploring the woods and cooling his paws in the stream along the way. He’s a sweet, affectionate pup who enjoys cuddles just as much as he loves staying active. As a lively middle-aged dog, Shutter would thrive with an outdoorsy, active family ready to include him in their adventures.On another Dog Day Out here is what they said, `Shutter is the sweetest and most well-behaved boy! My boyfriend and I started our day with a pup cup at Starbucks, followed by lunch at Billie’s Grocery, where he calmly sat by our side. We then took a drive to Lawrence—he was perfectly calm in the car the whole way. He visited our sorority and fraternity houses, happily greeting everyone he met with tail wags and gentle kisses. On our walk around campus, he stayed calm, never barked or jumped, and didn’t have a single accident all day. Shutter truly just loves being around people. He was the best companion, and anyone would be lucky to have him in their life!`Shutter is neutered, microchipped, up to date on his vaccinations, and ready for his forever home! In an effort to help dogs with longer stays, those who are deteriorating in the shelter environment, or who are harder to place find homes more quickly, the adoption fee for this dog has been waived.
