My story

Hello! My name is River. I came into the shelter as a stray so my history prior is unknown. I enjoy going on walks where I can sniff around and roll in the grass. I pull initially from excitement though staff and volunteers find I can fall into a nice loose leash walk given a moment to decompress. I did have a minor bite when I was too excited in grabbing a toy during a walk. If you have any questions then please ask staff. Thanks for considering adopting me!INSIGHTS FROM MY ADVENTURE BUDDIES:`River is such a love. We spent a couple of hours at the farm today, and after meeting the alpacas and other animals, all she really wanted was to lie down and hang out with me ( and get lots of love, of course). She’s super gentle when taking treats and is really sweet and calm around new people. Honestly, it was an easy day-just soaking up a bit of sun and relaxing together. River was awesome. When we did get up to explore, she stuck close to me, walked calmly through the maze and trails, and then let me know she was ready to head back to her favorite spot by the grotto for a lazy afternoon. With a little love and patience to help her settle in, I know she’ll do great and be a wonderful family member!`
