Meet Kiri! He is a 3 to 4-year-old Terrier mix with a snazzy black and white coat, tipping the scales at a perfect 8.8kg. This charming little guy found himself at the city shelter after being reported as a stray. Now safe and sound, Kiri is on the lookout for a loving forever home. Kiri’s journey began when he wandered into a nearby house and decided to make himself at home—without an invitation! After being reported as a stray, he found safety at the Shelter and is now looking for a forever family. This social butterfly is full of love and charm, eager to befriend not only familiar faces but also new ones. He happily leans in for pets, enjoys being touched, and is just as affectionate with men as he is with women. Kiri is particularly gentle with children under 13, even going on walks with kids at his foster home—he’s the perfect companion for families! He’s comfortable being picked up, even when scooped up from underneath, and isn’t shy about showing his belly to strangers. Kiri’s friendliness extends to his fellow canines, too. He eagerly greets both familiar and unfamiliar dogs, often inviting them to play. He gets along especially well with dogs of similar size and tends to prefer female dogs over males. While he enjoys romping around with high-energy pups, he can react if another dog tries to pick a fight, so introductions should be supervised with unfamiliar dogs. While Kiri hasn’t lived with cats, he seems like he could do well with them. He has a moderate energy level—he enjoys outdoor adventures but is calm and relaxed afterward. He’s an experienced walker who doesn’t pull on the leash and happily follows his human’s lead. Though he’s not possessive over food with people or other dogs in his current foster home, he did show some guarding behaviour around food in the shelter’s group setting. Now that he’s living stress-free, those habits have disappeared. Kiri is quiet, rarely barks, and has no separation anxiety. He entertains himself with nose work toys when alone and is calm when traveling in a kennel. He’s mostly house-trained for outdoor potty breaks. Kiri is a sweet, well-mannered companion ready to bring love and joy into his new home! View more photos and videos on Facebook: Link to Post Does Kiri sound like the right companion for you?
