Meet Mia! She is a young German Shepherd, mixed with Australian Shepherd or Husky, who has already endured so much in her short life. Unfortunately the vet believes her ears were either cropped at home or chronic ear infections were left untreated. She’s missing most of her back left foot - likely an injury untreated from a lawnmower accident. Despite this abuse, Mia is a very sweet dog who just wants to give and receive love. -Knows how to sit, come, stay, shake, lie down, break (free to run or start eating) already! She is eager to learn and please you so I know she could be trained to do so much more!! -Enjoys cuddling, kisses, belly rubs, lounging and walks. She loves to stick her head out the window on car rides! Great on a leash for the dog walker and rides well in cars. Mia spends 1-2 hrs a day outside walking/sniffing but her needs can also be met with mental stimulation. Boy does this girl LOVE a sniffari! -Coexists well with cats and dogs but would prefer to be an only dog. Because she was starved, she has some minor, understandable resource guarding to work through. She does not like to share food or bones with other dogs but she enjoys their company otherwise. It’s not an issue around people or cats. If she is fed in a separate room, there are no issues! She could also live with another dog now if the adopter understands and is willing to follow that guideline of separation for toy/bone/feeding time. She gets along very well with her foster brother (who is a Husky) and walks well the neighbors’ dogs outside. She could happily live with another dog once she’s decompressed more and realizes her access to food is consistent. -Barks when she first meets you, but is veryyy food motivated so you can easily win her over with treats! -Working on kennel training. Has not been left alone much. Potty trained. -Loves bones, kongs, sniff mats, puzzles and lick mats but would need to be the only dog around for those activities. Mia is being fostered in Monument, Colorado and is available for a meet and greet! ##2350028##
