My story

What my friends at ACC say about me:I have lived with dogs in my previous home.I would do best in a home with only adult humans.I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.A volunteer writes: It's been nearly 4 months since Sumo arrived at Queens ACC, with his wayward ears and wrinkled brow. He seems to be a dog accustomed to a nice home, and he's come to us with notes that tell us about his past life. He cries softly when we meet him just a day after his arrival, but is pacified with a toy and a familiar game of fetch. You can tell he's experienced, played many games in his life, and knows the routine. He runs back and hops gently to put the toy back in your hands, briefly touching the ground with his butt while watching your hands, and pivots to go and retrieve again. If you are slow to pick his toy up he stares at it to make sure you know where it is, and if you are still too slow he brings it closer to you.In his past Sumo lived with 3 kids and a dog. He's described as friendly and outgoing with strangers, kids, and other dogs. He enjoyed walks in his previous home, knows many cues like sit, stay, roll, and leave it, and house trained. Sumo is at Queens ACC patiently waiting for his next chance at a nice home. Primary Color: Tan Weight: 65 Age: 7yrs 10mths 1wks

If you have any questions or would like to adopt Sumo, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
